Next Wave Hoops is a volunteer-run nonprofit started by players and coaches who believe every athlete deserves high-quality training, no matter their budget.
In 2022, a group of experienced players started running free training sessions at Tyee Middle School in Bellevue for kids who'd been priced out of private coaching. A handful of athletes came the first week. Word spread fast.
Today, Next Wave Hoops runs free, personalized training across the Bellevue area, on the same belief it started with: every athlete deserves high-quality coaching and a real path to get better.
No registration fees, no uniform fees, no pay-to-play. If a family needs a ride or shoes, we figure it out together.
Every session is personalized to the athlete in front of us. We meet players where they are and build a plan around their goals and how they learn.
We measure progress by growth, not trophies. Players leave every session sharper, with stronger fundamentals and more confidence.
Next Wave Hoops isn't just local. Our Taiwan branch runs free basketball camps and clinics for kids in mountain and rural communities, the same mission as home: high-quality coaching that gives back, no matter the zip code or the country.
Every training session we run is free, and that's the whole point, to give back to our communities. Fundraisers and donations aren't about profit. They go straight toward expanding our reach: more free sessions, more camps, and more kids in more communities, from Bellevue to Taiwan.
We hold our coaches and our program to clear safety standards. Read our full policies below.
